About OAU MECHANICAL

The Mechanical Engineering programme is designed to equip graduate with enough basic engineering principles so that they can stand out and cope with challenges of a developng country like ours.

The philosophy of the departmental programme is to expose students to the science and technology of materials givng the students a sound theoretical background of the fundamentals and showing them the link between theory and practice by way of laboratory, practcal, work-visits and industrial attachments.

The first three years are devoted to basic sciences and fundamental principles of engineering sciences. The last two years deal with the more specialized branches of mechanical engineering such as machine design, production engineering, refrigeration and air-conditioning and mechanical repair and maitenance.
